Water problem in SW region end soon: WRM

Water Resource Minister Anwar Hossain Manju has said the government has decided to take adequate measures to solve water-logging problem and remove salinity in Bangladesh’s southwestern region.

“To construct and repair embankment and to reserve safe water, Water Development Board (WDB) will take steps in a planned way. The southwestern region zone is prone to natural disasters,” the minister said while addressing a view exchange meeting with WDB officials in Khulna zone as the chief guest on Sunday.

Manju urged the officials concerned to supervise and implement of all government projects which have been initiated earlier.

Lawmakers Mizanur Rahman Mizan and Swapon Bhattacharia, chief engineer of WDB, Khulna zone Md Lutfar Rahman, among others, were present at the meeting.

Later, the minister joined a reception hosted by Barisal Welfare Association in a hotel.
