The local administration in Panchagarh’s Tetulia stopped a post-wedding ceremony and fined the bride’s father on Saturday to stop the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Md Masudul Haque, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, said one Abu Taher arranged the marriage of his daughter on Friday, violating the government’s instruction on public gathering.
“Being informed by locals, we went there, stopped the post-wedding ceremony and fined Taher Tk 2,000,” he added.
