RDRS Bangladesh distributes Bangabandhu higher education scholarships to empower deserving students in Rangpur


Today, in a heartfelt ceremony at the RDRS office in Rangpur, the distribution of the Bangabandhu Higher Education Scholarship 2024 was celebrated.

Ten deserving students from the district were honored with scholarships, marking a significant step towards empowering youth education.

The 'Bangabandhu Higher Education Scholarship 2024 Presentation Ceremony' was orchestrated by RDRS Bangladesh, a non-governmental development organization, with Md Fasiullah, Executive Vice Chairman of Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA), gracing the occasion as the chief guest.

The event, chaired by RDRS Bangladesh Executive Director Tapan Kumar Karmakar, also saw the esteemed presence of Rangpur ADC General Habibul Bashar Rumi and Muhammad Majedul Haque, Executive Director of Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA).

A total of Tk 1 lakh 5 thousand was disbursed among the recipients, categorized into two groups. Five students received a monthly stipend of taka 4,000 for three months, totaling taka 60,000 each, under the Bangabandhu Higher Education Scholarship. Additionally, five students were awarded taka 45,000 each under the Diploma Course Scholarship, receiving a monthly allowance of taka 3,000.

During the event's discussion session, Md. Fasiullah emphasized the significance of education in shaping the nation's future, urging scholarship recipients to embody the spirit of the liberation war and contribute to the country's development.

Rangpur ADC General Habibul Bashar Rumi envisioned a prosperous future for Bangladesh, highlighting the pivotal role of students in this journey.

Muhammad Majedul Haque lauded the initiative as a tribute to the memory of Bangabandhu, emphasizing the transformative power of education.

Tapan Kumar Karmakar expressed RDRS Bangladesh's commitment to empowering students through education, citing the organization's longstanding scholarship program.

Since January 2022, RDRS Bangladesh has disbursed scholarships amounting to Tk 13 lakh 72 thousand to 27 students. Over the years, a total of Tk 79 lakh 20 thousand scholarships have been awarded to 660 students, underscoring the organization's dedication to fostering education.
