My TV Chairman Nasir Uddin Sathi arrested in murder case

Police have arrested Nasir Uddin Sathi, chairman and managing director of private television channel My TV, in connection with a murder case filed at Jatrabari Police Station during the anti-discrimination student movement.

DMP Joint Commissioner (South) Nasirul Islam said that a team of detectives arrested Sathi from his Gulshan residence.

Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Public Relations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, confirmed the arrest on Sunday evening.

He said that Sathi was arrested over his alleged involvement in the case and would be produced before court on Monday (18 August), where police will seek a remand order for further questioning.

The private television channel MyTV, owned by VM International Limited, has been broadcasting since 2010.
