13th National Parliamentary ElectionSalam Pintu and Tuku collected nomination forms together


BNP Vice Chairman Abdus Salam Pintu and central publicity secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku have collected nomination forms together as a BNP-nominated candidate for two seats in Tangail in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election.

BNP candidate Abdus Salam Pintu from Tangail-2 (Gopalpur-Bhuiyanpur) constituency and his younger brother Sultan Salahuddin Tuku from Tangail-5 (Sadar) constituency collected nomination forms.

Attending personally at the Tangail District Election Officer's office on Sunday (December 21) afternoon; they collected their nomination forms from Senior Election Officer Mohammad Tajul Islam.

At that time, Tangail District BNP President Md. Hasanuzzammil Shahin, former district Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal president Ahmedul Haque Satil, former district BNP member secretary Mahmudul Haque Sanu, former Jubo Dal convener Kazi Shafiqur Rahman Liton, Sadar Upazila BNP President Md. Azgar Ali, district Jubo Dal convener Khandaker Rashedul Alam and others were present.

After collecting the nomination forms, Tuku told reporters, "We have collected the nomination papers in accordance with the code of conduct. I will try my best to fulfill the important responsibility that BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman have entrusted to me. I want to ensure the future path through harmony and harmony with everyone."

He further said, "If Allah helps and if I can win the next election, I will work together with the people of Tangail for development. At the same time, I want to build a safe Tangail free from terrorism, extortion, juvenile gangs and drugs, God willing."

The district senior election officer said that 23 nomination forms have been distributed so far in 8 constituencies of the district in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election. There are a total of 33 lakh 34 thousand 325 voters in the 8 constituencies of the district. A total of 1 thousand 63 polling stations have been finalized.

He further said, "We are hopeful that voters will be able to vote in the upcoming February 12 elections without any hindrance and in a festive atmosphere. That is why we, the district administration and police administration, under the leadership of the District Returning Officer, are working day and night under the guidance of the Election Commission."

It is worth mentioning that Abdus Salam Pintu, the founding general secretary of Tangail District BNP, was elected as a member of parliament from Tangail-2 constituency in the 1991, 1996 and 2001 national elections. In 2001, he served as the Deputy Minister of Education. Later, he also served as the Deputy Minister of Industries from 2003 to 2006.

On the other hand, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku is going to contest the national elections from Tangail-5 (Sadar) constituency for the first time after receiving the nomination of BNP. He has long experience of leading as the former president of Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal. He is currently serving as the publicity secretary of the central BNP.
