KFW completes review mission of LGED's CREM-CRILIC project


German Development Bank KFW; a trusted development partner of Bangladesh has completed a progress review mission on the activities of Climate Resilient Infrastructure Mainstreaming (CREM) project and the Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Center (CRILIC) under the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED).

A three-member delegation from the German Development Bank conducted this review mission from November 22 to November 27.

The other members of the mission delegation, led by KFW Portfolio Manager Johannes Hangst, are Technical Expert Peter Rooney, Portfolio Coordinator Urban Development SK Touhidur Rahman.

The mission team inspected the ongoing development work in Satkhira district from November 22-24. On November 25, the progress review mission discussed the issue of cream-cream with LGED Chief Engineer Javed Karim.

The review mission also held discussions with the Local Government Department (LGD), Economic Relations Division (ERD) and the German Development Agency (GIZ) on November 26 regarding the activities and future prospects of the CRILIC.

Today (November 27), the KFW review mission concluded with an exchange of views with LGED officials and consultants on the progress, to-do items, and future plans of the project.

LGED's Additional Chief Engineer (Urban Management) and Acting Director of Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Center (CRILIC) Md. Shahanur was present at the views exchange meeting.
