GPS trackers will be installed in all public transport: Road Minister

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Sheikh Robiul Alam announced on Sunday (March 29) that GPS trackers will be installed in all public transport vehicles to curb irregularities and enhance road safety. Speaking after a high-level meeting at the Secretariat, the Minister explained that this technology would help identify unfit vehicles and monitor traffic violations more effectively. He emphasized that highway police will increase their vigilance, and illegal ticket counters along highways will be removed. While describing this year's Eid journey as generally comfortable, he noted that unauthorized truck and lorry movement caused some congestion, and he vowed strict action against those responsible for any lingering road safety issues.
