Tarique Rahman: Inspiration of the entire nation

Tarique Rahman has been appointed as the new chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Tarique Rahman, the pride of the youth, will move forward carrying the flag of the ideals of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and national leader Begum Khaleda Zia.

The post of party chairman fell vacant due to the death of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. In this context, a meeting of the National Standing Committee was held on January 9 (Friday) as per the BNP constitution. The meeting unanimously appointed Tarique Rahman as the BNP chairman. Through this, he assumed the responsibility as the BNP chairman as per the party constitution.

Tarique Rahman entered politics in 1992. After 33 years, he was given full responsibility of the party. After being relieved of his duties, he became the chairman. The steering of the party was in his hands since the country's leader Begum Khaleda Zia was sent to prison in 2018. People from all walks of life congratulated him on taking the formal responsibility of the head of the country's largest political party. Party leaders and activists wished Tarique Rahman success.

The countrymen expect Tarique Rahman to move forward with deep patriotism, unwavering faith in Allah, unquestionable honesty, and the practice of true democracy, freedom of the media, and tolerance, like Shaheed Zia and Begum Khaleda Zia.

A noble woman full of ethics and morals

Uncompromising, the daughter of democracy, former Prime Minister (late) Begum Khaleda Zia, did not care about imprisonment for justice. Her husband was martyred President Ziaur Rahman. He was a religious and modern statesman. His honesty, role in the Liberation War, independent-sovereign perspective, multi-party democracy, and production-oriented politics have immortalized him.

BNP's new chairman Tarique Rahman is becoming a solid politician by embracing his mother's touch and father's ideals. He is a pillar of hope and confidence for the people of the country. Tarique Rahman is walking on the path of his parents to build the country. With his far-reaching vision, the people of the country are dreaming of a new Bangladesh. To fulfill this dream, Tarique Rahman has called for the implementation of 31 points. At a time when darkness, uncertainty and conspiracies are all around, Tarique Rahman's 31 points are the fruit of trust for the BNP and the countrymen. Political analysts believe that if implemented, people from all walks of life will be freed from the gloom of 54 years.

During this election season, BNP leaders and activists should go door to door and deliver the leader's 31 points in an orderly and thorough manner. Lazy people should be made to read and understand what Tarique Rahman's 31 points are. Only then will the benefits come in the upcoming elections to be held on February 12.

A political party of BNP, which is moving left and right, is trying to thwart Tarique Rahman's plan. Their engaged view traders are trying to seize the field by making various obscene videos and ugly comments against Tarique Rahman. A kind of needy people are being used in exchange for money. Their impudence is to suppress the humble Tarique Rahman and the BNP. For this, they are also giving juicy cells to the Awami League from the inside. Those who have malicious intentions are gradually giving in to Tarique Rahman's humble behavior, political skills, perfect efforts and sound plans. He is a skilled craftsman of productive politics to implement 31 points through the 29-point analysis of martyred President Ziaur Rahman.

Tarique Rahman's well-thought-out plan has the right direction in the country's democracy, economy, education, environment and human rights. In this context, the upcoming national election on February 12 is not just a political process; rather, it is an important chapter for the future development and stability of Bangladesh. The political identity of BNP leaders and activists will be the pride of society. People should not be afraid, but should be happy and respectful when they see a politician.

BNP, formed on September 1, 1978 under the leadership of martyred President Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam, has made significant contributions to the development of the country since independence. Tarique Rahman is currently determined to continue that trend. Under the ideals of Ziaur Rahman and the uncompromising leadership of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, the party has maintained an influential position in national politics. Tarique Rahman will be the statesman of the future to maintain this continuity. His honesty and positive outlook have already gained acceptance by the people of the country. He is moving forward quietly and quietly.

Tarique Rahman's role in building a secular, democratic and inclusive Bangladesh is immense. His influence and management of the upcoming elections will set an example of his skill. The country's economy, agriculture and industry will regain new life. Development of the garment industry, modernization of agriculture, increasing remittance flow and strengthening the private sector are recognized as BNP's contributions. BNP is more acceptable than all other parties due to its long political experience and experience in running the country. In light of previous experience, the new leadership of the party will be able to play a more mature role in running the state.

Tarique Rahman's commitment to the youth

One-third of the population of Bangladesh is waiting for the young Tarique Rahman. Tarique Rahman has a plan to transform the youth into national assets through work-oriented education, employment-creating initiatives, development of sports and culture, and expansion of the IT sector. He has planned to provide employment to 45 million young people. At the same time, he will also provide 45 million family cards. The ownership of these family cards will be poor and helpless people.

Tarique Rahman is in favor of multi-party democracy, independent judiciary and freedom of the media. In his election manifesto, he has also announced 31 points for repairing the state. Which is the direction of a positive change in national life. Tarique Rahman believes in equal rights for people of all religions and is committed to keeping the country as an example of communal harmony.

Due to spending a long time in the opposition party, there has been some weakness in the field-level organization. In addition, there is a need to further strengthen modern campaign strategies (use of digital platforms, information technology). Tarique Rahman is aware of what needs to be done to further strengthen party unity among the people and the single decision-making process of the leadership. In addition, he is trying to resolve the conflict by calling on several BNP leaders in the constituencies where they want to run independently without getting party nomination. Since BNP may lose many seats due to party conflict, Tarique Rahman is trying his best to resolve it with his talent and wisdom.

Positive relations in the international arena

BNP has always maintained international relations on the basis of self-respect. Tarique Rahman believes that one of the strengths of BNP is its policy of working with all countries - India, China, the United States, the European Union and the Muslim world - on equality and mutual interests.

Tarique Rahman believes that it is possible to gain the trust of the people by establishing social justice and good governance, a transparent electoral system, reducing corruption, ensuring the rule of law, and protecting human rights.

BNP's new chairman Tarique Rahman is controlling various propaganda and confusion, and at different times, false propaganda by political opponents with a very strong mind. He has adopted a well-organized and effective media strategy for the party.

Economic instability and global situation

The Russia-Ukraine war, global market volatility, and climate change are creating challenges for Bangladesh's economy. Tarique Rahman has adopted a strong policy to address these.

Fulfilling the expectations of the youth society

There is a timely plan to bring about rapid employment, technology and modern education changes in the youth society. He has made a heartfelt appeal to the leaders and activists of BNP to implement timely programs. He has requested the leaders and activists to conduct a peaceful campaign among the people before the February 12 elections, clearly publicize the election manifesto, and convey a positive message on digital platforms.

He urged the formation of a transparent and accountable administration, strengthening the role of an independent Election Commission and the judiciary. BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman sought the government's good will to implement long-term development plans and ensure the participation of youth, women and marginalized communities.

Bangladesh is a secular, democratic and emerging economic power. To organize this power well, experienced leadership, clear direction and public support are needed. BNP wants to show the people of the country a positive future direction through its historical legacy, development-oriented plans and democratic values in the upcoming national elections. BNP has sufficient strength and opportunities, which will play an important role in the political and economic restructuring of the country.

Tarique Rahman believes that despite the limitations and challenges, they can be overcome through appropriate policies and leadership. He told the leaders and activists that BNP's role as an inclusive, responsible and development-oriented political party is now essential to build the future of Bangladesh.

Tarek Zia has given strict instructions and warnings that extortionists, grabbers, tender traders, and hybrid leaders and activists will not be allowed in the party.

He said that those within the party who are involved in these things will not be kept in their posts under any circumstances. Necessary measures will be taken, including expulsion from the party. He will evaluate the leaders and activists who have sacrificed their lives. This will benefit the party and the people of the country.

It is worth noting that after August 5, 2024, some party leaders and activists engaged in extortion and extortion. Another political party took advantage of this. This made the general public somewhat annoyed with BNP. Because if BNP engages in extortion and extortion like the Awami League, the future of the people of the country will be ruined.

If the young, talented, educated, elegant, humble and selfless people prevail in the upcoming parliamentary elections, BNP will win an absolute victory. There are many workers who, despite not holding any position, are working tirelessly for the leaders, activists and party with the money they have earned. They need to be seen seriously. The role of women is also immense. The country's female voters have given BNP a lead in the victory by voting for it in the past few days. However, after Tarique Rahman returned home, much order has returned to the behavior and speeches of BNP leaders and candidates.

All the recent polls conducted in Bangladesh regarding the elections have shown a very close gap between BNP and Jamaat. At the same time, a large number of people were undecided. The leadership crisis due to Khaleda Zia's illness and Tarique Rahman's stay abroad had left people in a state of undecided. But after Tarique Rahman came to the country and his speech, behavior, humility, and generosity impressed people. As a result, the undecided people made up their minds very quickly. It would not be an exaggeration to call it Tarique Magic or Tarique Tonic.

BNP has entered the 'post-Khaleda Zia' era, and prominent writer and political analyst Mohiuddin Ahmed has analyzed whether BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will be able to carry forward her legacy.

He says, 'Former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia's personal charisma played a big role in keeping the party energized and united. That rhythm will now be disrupted. Tarique Rahman will now have to prove his leadership through a process. His leadership is still untested.'

Mohiuddin Ahmed reminded that Khaleda Zia herself was once untested in politics. She rose to national leadership during the mass movement against military ruler General Hussain Muhammad Ershad in the 1980s. Her husband, then President Ziaur Rahman, was killed in a failed military coup in 1981.

Mohiuddin Ahmed argues that the February elections could be similarly fateful for Tarique Rahman: success would legitimize his leadership, while failure would call his leadership into question.

The BNP is now facing a much more competitive field, with an alliance led by major Islamic forces like Jamaat-e-Islami. This alliance of Jamaat also includes parties like the 'National Citizens Committee' (originally the National Citizens Party-NCP). This party is a political party formed by young leaders of the July 2024 movement, which forced the ouster of Sheikh Hasina's government. So, it goes without saying that the upcoming 13th National Parliament election is a test for the BNP.
