July fighters will be unanimously acquitted: Information Minister
Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan announced on Wednesday (March 25), during a press briefing marking the government's first month in office, that a law will be passed in the next parliamentary session to provide unanimous immunity to the "July fighters." Expressing gratitude to the nation for electing the BNP in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the Minister highlighted that the government is prioritizing its manifesto promises, having already started distributing "Family Cards" to identified 41 million families and honorariums to Imams and Muazzins. He further revealed that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the distribution of "Farmer Cards" in Tangail on Pohela Boishakh. Additionally, the Minister confirmed the cancellation of duty-free car and plot facilities for MPs, the reduction of the Prime Minister's VIP protocol, and the successful repatriation of over 400 Bangladeshis from war-torn Iran, while assuring that there are no plans to increase fuel prices.
