Walton fridge starts sales, marketing through 300 showrooms in India

The Bangladeshi electronics giant, Walton, has successfully extended its brand presence in the Indian market by initiating the sales and marketing of its refrigerators through 300 outlets across India.

In the largest economies of Asia and Bangladesh's neighboring countries, Walton has been exporting a range of electrical and electronic products, such as refrigerators, televisions, washing machines, etc., as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

The Bangladeshi electronics giant has recently entered the Indian market with its own branded refrigerators.

This marks a significant milestone in the swift proliferation of Bangladeshi and Walton brand products in the expansive Indian market.

As per Walton Global Business, the sales and marketing of Walton's own branded refrigerators have already begun at 300 outlets across various regions in India.

Plans are underway to gradually expand the number of outlets. In addition to refrigerators, Walton is set to introduce its 'Made in Bangladesh' labeled air conditioners, televisions, washing machines, as well as home and kitchen appliances, all proudly featuring the company's brand logo.

Tofail Ahmed, chief Business Officer of Walton Refrigerators, said that Walton has successfully established itself as a leader in the Bangladesh market.

“Our next objective is to carve out a robust presence in the global market. To achieve this goal, we are actively expanding Walton's own brand business alongside our OEM operations, targeting developed markets across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and America. As part of this ongoing initiative, we have now extended Walton's own brand business into the world's largest market, India. We've strategically developed robust sales, marketing, and after-sales service facilities in India, aiming to replicate our success and become a market leader, akin to our achievements in the Bangladesh market," he said.

Over the past few years, Tofail highlighted that Walton has consistently exported refrigerators valued at $ 11 million annually through OEM operations in India.

The distinctiveness of Walton-made refrigerators, characterized by the latest technology, advanced features, durability, and the highest standards, has rapidly gained the trust of Indian consumers. These notable successes have motivated Walton to venture into its own brand business in India, he added.

Abdur Rauf, vice president of Walton's Global Business Section, said India stands out as one of the largest economies in Asia, boasting the world's largest population and an annual demand for 1.4 million units of refrigerators.

The initiation of Walton's brand business in India has opened up a substantial potential market for Bangladesh's export sector, he said.

“To aspire to the position of market leader in India, akin to our success in Bangladesh, we have assembled a highly skilled marketing team poised to execute extensive branding activities in the Indian market. Our presence is further strengthened with the launch of our dedicated website in India, Walton. In addition, we are in the process of appointing a brand ambassador, and our participation in various international fairs in India, including the largest 'India Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances' fair, is imminent," he said.

The Bangladeshi electronics giant is actively exporting a range of products, including refrigerators, TVs, air conditioners, washing machines, fans, compressors, and home and kitchen appliances, to over 40 countries worldwide.

With a strategic vision, Walton aims to establish itself as one of the leading consumer electronics brands globally by the year 2030.
