Managing committee to run English medium schools

Country’s English medium schools followed by foreign curriculum will form managing committee on regular basis from now and also will provide schools’ expenditure statement to the guardians of the students.   

School inspector of Dhaka Education Board Md Abul Mansur Bhuiyan came up with the information on Saturday.

A notification will be issued soon in this regard, he added.

Abul Mansur said, “We have taken such an initiative in order to bring transparency and dynamism in the regulations of English medium schools.”

“Like other schools, managing committee is required for English medium schools. The committee will prepare expenditure statement of the school involving head of the institution. At the end of the financial year, the information on expenses will have to be sent to the people concerned after reviewing total costs. The English medium schools will be operated as per the decision of the managing committee.”   

Meanwhile, Dhaka Education Board on August 4 published a list of registered English medium schools of the country. The list comprised 115 institutions, including registered and temporarily-registered.  

Earlier on July 29, the Education Ministry issued a directive that the authorities of English medium schools will inform their total expenses to the guardians.
