178 people received CIP (export) recognition


The government has selected 178 traders for commercially important persons (CIP-Export) for 2015, with special contribution in export trade. Of this, 136 companies in the Export Promotion category and 42 in the Trade category have 42 CIPs.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed handed over the CIP card to the traders in a ceremony organized at Hotel Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden in the capital yesterday. FBCCI president Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, EPB vice chairman Vijay Bhattacharya, FBCCI director Hasina Newaz and Managing Director of Incepta Pharmaceuticals Abdul Muktadir spoke on the occasion while Commerce Secretary Shuvashish Basu chaired the program.

Selected CIPs will enjoy a variety of facilities for one year. During the expiry of the CIP card, you will get an entry pass and car sticker to enter the Bangladesh Secretariat. Apart from this, you will receive invitations to the civic reception organized by various national programs and municipal corporations. In the case of business trips, they will be given preference in the reservation of seats, air, rail, roads and vessels.

Foreign Ministry will issue 'Letter of Intrudation' on behalf of the embassy concerned for visa for foreign travel in the business-related work for CIPs. They will have the advantage of using the VIP lounge-2 at the airport. CIPs will get priority in the cabin facility at their public hospitals for their wives, sons, daughters and own treatment.

The CIP (export) card will be valid for one year. However, the validity of the card will remain valid until the CIP declaration next year. However, the term of the CIPs in the trade category will remain in force for the post of their respective trade association or until the next CIP declaration (whichever is earlier) will be effective.
