61 lakh Anser-VDP men deployed to stop child-lifting remours

Ansar and Village Defence Party Director General Major General Kazi Sharif Kaikobad on Tuesday said some 61 lakh men of the paramilitary force have been deployed across the country to stop the spread of child-lifting remours.

“Nearly 61 lakh field level men of the force will make people aware of the fatal consequence of rumours." he said.

He disclosed the information at a view exchanging meeting held at Ansar and VDP headquarters in the capital’s Khilgaon area.

Kazi Sharif Kaikobad said, “A vested quarter has been spreading rumour that cut off heads of children would be required for constructing the Padma Bridge. It is a superstition. Ansar and VDP members will work to preventing this,”

The Ansar and VDP chief also informed that about 12,500 Ansar commanders at village, union and upazila levels have been brought under allowance coverage. Besides, he said, the Ansar-VDP members are being imparted training.

“The message has been sent to Ansar leaders deployed at village and union levels. Upon receiving the message, 61 lakh Ansar members will make general people aware of it,” he said, adding that: “The Ansar and VDP is the largest force of the country, extending its service all over the country. It has also a glorious contribution in the Liberation war.”
