Fire breaks out at Narayanganj market for car parts

About eight firefighting units are trying to contain a major fire that erupted at a market in Gawsia area of Narayanganj in the early hours Sunday. The market hosts shops for vehicle spare parts.

Fakhruddin Ahmad, deputy assistant director of Narayanganj fire service, said the fire is pretty big and gradually expanding. The fire was first reported at 3.35am Sunday, and the first firefighting unit reached the spot at 3.50am.

Eight units of four fire stations in Narayanganj are working to douse the flames.

Cause of the incident and casualties were yet to be known.
