Acquire world-class skills, President to BAF members


President Abdul Hamid on Tuesday urged the members of  Bangladesh Air Force(BAF) to acquire world-class skills to uphold the dignity of the country.

"Attaining professional skills is very important for you. These skills boost self-confidence as well as enhance the force’s goodwill and dignity. So you have to prepare yourselves as the skilled and ideal airforce members,” he said.

The President came up with the remarks while addressing a ceremony to award  National Standard to the Squadron 1,3,5,8,9 and 71 of BAF  Bangabandhu Base at Kurmitola.

 "You need advanced training and hard work for gaining skills. Remember that unwavering dedication and relentless efforts are needed to achieve any goal. And its successful completion is achievement. So you have to make relentless efforts to take the achievements of Air Force to a new height."

Considering the geographical location of the country, military strategic side,  and scope of economic development and prospects, the government of Bangladesh is very sincere to make Air Force a modern, powerful and professional force, he said 

"The  government continued its efforts to integrate sophisticated aircraft and machinery and restructuring of  Air Force's organisational framework under Forces Goal 2030. Bangabandhu Aeronautical Center has been built at the Bangabandhu base aiming to provide safe and affordable maintenance  of all types of aircraft, radars and other equipment. 

He also hoped that the overhauling of foreign air force aircraft and helicopters will also be possible at Bangabandhu Aeronautical Center in future.

He also stressed the need for proper maintenance of all equipment of Air Force including warplanes as those are valaubale. 

" Bangladesh is now on the highway of development. So security is essential for development. That's why the security of our airspace is also very important. I firmly believe that our Air Force will be able to perform this responsibility successfully."

Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat and commander  of BAF Bangabandhu Base Air Vice Marshal M Sayed Hossain  welcomed the president when he reached the parade ground.

Accompanied by Sayed Hossain and Wing Commander Masudur Rahman, the president inspected the parade riding on an open jeep and took salute.

Secretaries concerned to the President were also present during the ceremony.
