Elderly man dies in coronavirus isolation in Faridpur

An elderly man has died on Monday morning in isolation with symptoms of coronavirus at Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

The deceased was a 70-year-old, hailing form Madhukhali Upazila.

Director of the hospital Md Saifur Rahman said, "A patient got admitted to the hospital few days ago with kidney and respiratory problems."

"Seeing coronavirus symptoms in him, doctors admitted him in isolation unit on Sunday. He died around 8:30 am this morning," he added.

The deceased's sample has been sent to Dhaka for testing, he informed further.

Madukhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Mostafa Monwar said, "As soon as we got information about the matter, we brought 50 members of four houses under home quarantine in that area."

" The body will be buried under administration's supervision," he added.
