No enforced disappearances or crossfire incidents have occurred in the country in 42 days: Law Minister
Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md. Asaduzzaman announced in the National Parliament that during the government's first 42 days in office, there have been zero instances of enforced disappearances or extrajudicial killings.
While introducing the Human Rights Bill-2026, the Minister emphasized that the administration is prioritizing the protection of civil liberties over political vengeance, asserting that the government is firmly committed to "walking the path of human rights."
He further characterized the Zia family and the BNP as the most significant victims of rights violations in the country's post-1971 history, noting that the Prime Minister herself has experienced extreme abuses, which reinforces the government's resolve to ensure such systemic crimes never recur.
