BSEC holds meeting with PM’s special assistant Tanvir Ghani


The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) held a meeting on April 16, 2026, with Tanvir Ghani, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Investment and Capital Market Affairs, who holds the status of a state minister.

The meeting began at 11 am at the BSEC headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka. It was attended by BSEC Chairman Khandoker Rashed Maqsood, along with Commissioners Md Mohsin Chowdhury, Md Ali Akbar, Farzana Lalarukh and Md Saifuddin, and other senior officials of the commission.

During the meeting, BSEC delivered a presentation outlining its role, overall functions, institutional structure and capacity. The presentation also covered the capital market ecosystem and regulatory framework, key initiatives undertaken by the commission, and notable achievements in market development.

The commission further highlighted its future plans aimed at supporting the implementation of the government’s electoral manifesto, particularly in relation to capital market growth and stability.

In addition, the special assistant was briefed on the recent measures taken by BSEC to reform the capital market and ensure its sustainable development. He, in turn, inquired about various aspects of the market during the discussion.
