Rain likely in Dhaka tonight, temperatures may fall

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light rain or thundershowers in Dhaka and its adjoining areas tonight, with night-time temperatures expected to fall slightly.

According to the weather forecast issued on Friday (17 July) for the six-hour period from 7:00pm, the sky may remain partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy during the period.

The BMD said south or south-easterly winds may blow at speeds of 10-15 km/h.

At 6:00pm on Friday, the temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 30 degrees Celsius, while the relative humidity stood at 76%.

The day's maximum temperature was 31.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 27.6 degrees Celsius. Only a trace amount of rainfall was recorded over the previous six hours, the weather office added.
