CA returns home after UK visit

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has returned to the country after a four-day visit to the United Kingdom.

According to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing, the Biman Bangladesh flight carrying him landed in Dhaka airport at 9:45 AM on Saturday.

The aircraft carrying the Chief Adviser and his delegation departed from London’s Heathrow International Airport at 7:15 PM local time on Friday.

During the four-day trip, the Chief Adviser held meetings with several key figures, including the Speaker of the UK House of Commons, and participated in various programs.

He also met with BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman yesterday. A joint statement issued after the meeting said that the discussion took place in a very cordial atmosphere.

According to the statement, in response to a proposal from Tarique Rahman, Dr. Yunus mentioned that if the necessary preparations are completed, a national election could be held in the country in the week before Ramadan begins in 2026. However, he emphasized that significant progress must be made in terms of reforms and justice beforehand.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam stated yesterday that the recovery of laundered money received the highest priority during this visit.
