'Parliamentary dictatorship' is being established in the name of parliamentary sovereignty: Sarwar Tushar
Sarwar Tushar, Joint Convener of the National Citizen's Party (NCP), accused the government on Monday, April 13, 2026, of establishing a "Parliamentary Autocracy" under the guise of parliamentary sovereignty.
Speaking at a seminar in Dhaka, he demanded the resignation of the Law and Home Ministers, claiming they have lost their moral right to hold office due to misleading the nation with false information.
Tushar criticized the ruling party's silence on the July uprising and reform issues, despite their two-thirds majority, and remarked that both Awami League and BNP follow a similar path of authoritarianism.
He warned that building bunkers or tunnels at the Prime Minister's residence would be futile against the collective will of the people and the mandate of the recent referendum.
