18 houses burned down in a fire in Teknaf

A devastating fire broke out on Tuesday night, April 21, 2026, in the Jele Para area of Hnila Union, Teknaf, destroying 18 houses and leaving several people, including children, injured.

The fire started around 11:30 PM and quickly spread, preventing residents from saving any of their belongings. According to local sources, the estimated damage is approximately one crore BDT.

Fire service personnel from Teknaf Station managed to bring the flames under control after a three-hour effort. While the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
