The people want strict laws against enforced disappearances: Rizvi
Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP and Political Advisor to the Prime Minister, called on the government on Monday, April 20, 2026, to enact a robust law to prevent enforced disappearances.
Speaking at an event seeking the whereabouts of missing leader Ilias Ali, Rizvi pointed out that current legal frameworks contain significant loopholes that must be addressed to ensure no future government can use such inhumane tactics against political rivals.
While acknowledging positive steps like agricultural loan interest waivers and a reduction in crossfire incidents, he warned the administration to remain vigilant against market syndicates and energy shortages.
He emphasized that true justice will only be achieved when those responsible for past disappearances are identified and held accountable.
