Rajshahi mango to be available in market from Thursday

‘Mango of Rajshahi’, country’s popular and tasty fruit, will be found in the markets from tomorrow, a media report reveals this information on Wednesday.

Of the mangoes, initially some different varieties of mangoes from the orchards of Rajshahi will be available in the market on Thursday (May 4).

Among the improved varieties, Gopalbhog mango will come to the market from May 15.    

The decision to harvest of mangoes was taken at a meeting on collection, transportation, marketing and monitoring of mangoes at the conference room of the office of the deputy commissioner at 11:00 am today.

As per the decision, Guti variety of mangoes can be found in the market from Thursday (tomorrow). 

Harvest of Laxmanbhog or Laukhna and Ranipasand are scheduled to begin on May 20, Himsagar or Khirsapat on May 25.

In addition, harvest of Langra is scheduled to start on June 6, Fazli on June 15, Amrapali on June 10, Ashwina and Bari-4 on July 10.
