Chapainawabganj road crash kills pedestrian

A pedestrian was crushed under the wheels of a truck on Kansat-Chowdala road in Kansat Abbas Bazar area in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Wasim Ali, 49, of Shibnarayanpur village in the area, UNB reported.

Shamsul Alam Shah, officer-in-charge of Shibganj Police Station, said the truck knocked down Wasim while he was crossing the road at around 7 am, leaving him dead on the spot.

The truck driver and his helper fled the spot.
