Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on Sunday said his ministry has made consular and administrative services available up to rural areas for the first time through digital platforms.

"From today, we are going live through the MyGov application platform, with this endeavour for the first time in history foreign office services are available in the rural area," he said.

The foreign minister was speaking virtually at a meeting marking "Digital Bangladesh Day-2021", organised by ICT wing of the foreign ministry in the capital.

Momen said the foreign ministry has added its 62 services to the MyGov platform for easy access to consular and other administrative services.

Besides, he said, the ministry has already made a unified website and developing a digital archive to modernise the record-keeping system.

He said, these services will be available at people's doorstep through National Call Center-333 and Union Digital Center (UDC).

Moreover, Momen said, Government Resource Planning (GRP), Digital Nothi and Digital Service Design Lab (DSDL) projects are ongoing to improve foreign office services.

The foreign minister said all these are the fruits of Awami League government's flagship "Digital Bangladesh" campaign, being implemented with the initiative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and directives of her ICT Adviser Sajib Wazed Joy.

Later, the foreign minister inaugurated the adding services to the MyGov platform and a new mobile app named "Dutabash-2".

Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen also spoke at the meeting, among others.
