IndiGo begins daily Dhaka-Kolkata flights from Aug 1

India’s largest low cost carrier IndiGo announced to start -Kolkata daily flights from August 1.

The budget airlines at a press meet at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on July 24 explained that the flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable daily flight options.

IndiGo’s maiden operations offers BDT 7,085 return and one-way BDT 5.031, Willy Boutler, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) claims the bargain price will attract passengers from Bangladesh, their ninth international destination.

Understand Bangladesh passengers need, IndiGo will allow 20 kg one piece check-in luggage and another 7 kg carry-on luggage in the route.

The Kolkata flights will have convenient connectivity to New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru.

The CSO said, “IndiGo, which has present market share of 41.3 percent has 12 years of successful operations in the India market as a low cost carrier, and adding to its network will further augment the regional connectivity that we aspire to our customers.”

IndiGo is amongst the fastest growing low-cost carriers in the world. IndiGo has a simple philosophy – offers fare that are low, flights that are on time, and a courteous, hassle-free travel experience.

The budget airline has a fleet of 153 Airbus A320. The airline offered 1,086 peak daily flights and connects to 57 destinations and nine international destinations and boasts of 97.1 per cent punctuality and placed fourth among commercial airlines, while Japan Airlines (99.1%) is placed on the top best airlines for time management.
