WB to provide Tk 255cr in food assistance for Rohingyas: Enamur

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Md Enamur Rahman on Sunday said the World Bank will provide Tk 255 crore in food assistance for the Rohingya people in Cox’s Bazar.

The state minister told this to reporters after signing an agreement between the ministry and the World Food Programme (WFP) at the Secretariat in Dhaka, the ministry said in a press release.

Secretary to the ministry Md Kamrul Hasan and WFP Country Director for Bangladesh Jane Pearce inked the agreement on behalf of their organisations.

Enamur said the WFP will provide food assistance under the Safety net System for the Poorest Project.
