Asadur Rahman appointed COO of DSE
Mohammad Asadur Rahman was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Monday.
He is also serving as the acting managing director there. Rahman officially joined the position of COO on June 30, 2025, according to a press release.
He began his journey at the DSE on 15 April 2010, as an assistant general manager. He was later promoted to Deputy general manager on 22 April 2013.
He later served as general manager and company secretary from 27 April 2017 to 29 June 2025.
During his tenure, he headed several departments, including the Trading Right Entitlement Certificate (TREC) Affairs Department, Legal Affairs Department, Corporate Affairs Department, Public Relations and Publications Department, and the International Affairs Department.
Additionally, from June 2019 to January 2020, he successfully led the Market Development Department, which oversaw the product and market development division, SME and OTC division, research and information division, and the market operations (MOPS) division.
Rahman served as the member secretary of the DSE Demutualization Implementation Committee and was a core team member of DSE’s new system project with Nasdaq and FlexTrade.
He also played a key role in DSE obtaining full membership of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE).
He also played roles in selecting strategic investors for the DSE, and including Shenzhen and Shanghai Stock Exchanges as DSE’s strategic partners.
