e-CAB to continue joint efforts to regain trust in e-commerce sector

E-commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) has vowed to continue its joint efforts with the entrepreneurs and the government to regain consumers’ trust in the ecommerce sector after resolving the recent incidents of fraudulence.

e-CAB executive committee made the remarks in a programme ‘meet the press’ at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka on Monday evening, said a press note.

e-CAB Vice-President Sahab Uddin Shipon said e-CAB does not want to spoil the trust that e-commerce entrepreneurs and workers have achieved during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We will be able to regain the consumers’ trust by ensuring quality services and operating business abiding the government’s guideline,” he said.

Risky business system hurts buyers or merchants and spread negative massage posing potential risk to the possible foreign investments, he added.

Besides, e-CAB General Secretary Mohammad Abdul Wahed Tomal said e-commerce sector is yet to witness success despite it made employments and provided services amid health risks of Covid-19 in the past one and half year.

The role of e-commerce sector is unavoidable in country’s economy and digital economy, he added.

Around 600 members of e-CAB participated at the programme marking the seventh anniversary of e-CAB.
