Govt hikes rawhide prices by Tk 7 for Eid procurement

The government has increased the prices of rawhide by Tk 7 per square foot ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

The prices of raw cowhide have been fixed at Tk 47-52 per square foot in the capital and Tk 40-44 outside Dhaka.

The decision came from an online meeting on Tuesday with commerce minister Tipu Munshi in the chair.

The prices of goatskins have been fixed at Tk 18-20 per square foot across the country while that of she-goat at Tk 12-14, said the minister.

Last year, the price of salted cow rawhide was fixed at Tk40-45 per square foot in Dhaka and Tk33-37 per square foot outside of the capital.

Besides, the price of goat hide was set at Tk15-17 per square foot while it was Tk12-14 per square foot of female goat hide across the country.
