Huge raw materials for RNPP arrive at Mongla Port 

A foreign ship carrying huge goods for Ruppur Nuclear Power Plant arrived at the no-7 jetty area at Mongla Sea Port in Khulna. 

"The Russian flag carrier 'MV UNIWISDOM' arrived at the Mongla Port from Russia loaded with 1400 metric ton iron materials and other necessary goods for the Ruppur Power Plant," said deputy secretary Md Makruzzaman of Mongla Port Authority (MPA). 

This is the third consignment for the power plant, he said, adding that more ships are on the way to Mongla Sea Port with huge raw materials for Ruppur Power Plant, Padma Bridge, Metro Railway Line, and another first track project.

Last month, several ships arrived at the Seaport loaded with huge machinery, equipment, and raw materials of the Ruppur nuclear power plant, Rampal power plant, metro rail, Bangabandhu, and Khanjahan Ali Railway Bridge. 

Huge machinery, equipment, raw materials of some mega projects, including Ruppur Nuclear Power Plant, Rampal Power Plant, metro rail, Bangabandhu and Khanjahan Ali railway bridges, and huge imported cars have so far been unloaded through the port in the past 50 days, an official of the port authority said on Tuesday.  

Mongla Port, the country's second-largest seaport, has turned an international standard quality after being taken huge modern development project especially inauguration of the Padma Bridge, he added.
