NGOAB Director of Visited COAST Foundation Principal Office


Today, on 1 February 2023, Tapan Kumar Biswas, Joint Secretary and the Director of NGO Affairs visited COAST Foundation principal office.

Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, the Executive Director of COAST Foundation welcomed him. This was his regular visit in NGOs from NGOAB to look after the project activities performed by the NGOs.

He expressed his gratitude to COAST as its has been working for long time for the coastal people in socio-economic development.

Mr. Biswas listened about COAST origin and development from the Executive Director. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury gave the short brief of COAST.

He mentioned that COAST has been originated from the "Bhola Project" of Action Aid (1984-97). Up to 1998, it was limited to Southern Bhola. Later, COAST got certificate from NGOAB and expanded its operation in other coastal districts. Now, COAST has been working in 12 coastal districts along on Micro Finance and development projects along with Rohingya response.

Mostafa Kamal Akanda, Director- Administration & SR presented the COAST overall activities and projects implemented in Bangladesh and Md. Shahinur Islam presented the humanitarian response projects in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char with Rohingya refugees.

In this visit, the Deputy Executive Director (DED), Sanat Kumar Bhowmik, Tarik Sayed Harun, Director- Core Program, Md. Ahsanul Karim, Director- FCC&EA, Ferdous Ara Rumee, Joint Director-Gender, Training and Community Radio were also present.

Mr. Biswas appreciated and acknowledge COAST activities.

End of the visit, the Executive Director handed over a crest to the Director.
