Covid-19 vaccineGovt signs procurement contract with Serum Institute of India


The government has signed a contract with Serum Institute of India to procure Covid-19 vaccine.

The signing ceremony was held at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday in presence of Health Minister Zahid Maleque.

As per the contract, the Serum Institute will supply 50 lakh shots of vaccine each month after it is approved for mass use.

Earlier on November 5, the health ministry signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with two organizations --Beximco and Serum Institute of India- 30 million doses of the Oxford University Covid-19 vaccines developed by Astrazeneca.
