Khokon new mayor of Barishal city

Awami League nominated candidate Abul Khayer Abdullah Khokon Serniabat has been elected new mayor of Barishal City Corporation.  

He has been victorious as per the unofficial results.  

Returning officer Humayun Kabir came up with the declaration at 9:00 pm on Monday (June 12).

According to results, Abul Khayer Abdullah Khokon Serniabat got 87,808 votes. His nearest candidate Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim of Islami Andolan bagged 33,828 votes.

The voting in Barishal City Corporation election began 8:00 am and continued till 4:00 pm.

There are a total of 2 lakh 76 thousand 298 voters in 30 wards of Barishal city.
