GM Quader illegally takes over party’s leadership: Raushan Ershad

Jatiya Party incumbent Chairman GM Quader took over the party’s leadership illegally, alleged Raushan Ershad, chief patron of the party,  on Tuesday.

“I don’t endorse GM Quader's activities regarding the national election, as I believe he assumed the party's leadership through illegitimate means,” Raushan told reporters after a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this afternoon.

Earlier in the day, Raushan along with her son Rahgir Al Mahi (Saad) Ershad and her spokesperson Kazi Mamunur Rashid went to the Ganabhaban to meet the prime minister to talk about holding the 12th national election in a free, fair and impartial manner.

She told the media that she requested the prime minister not to hold the election keeping the Jatiya Party in the Awami League-led alliance.
